Due to all the information I had gathered from researching Cuba, I can say that Cuba is really doing well in the our age. The disaster of Hurricane Sandy did not damage them that badly and they also have a pretty decent GDP, HDI, Life Expectancy, and Literacy Rate. However the conflicting data about Cuba's Poverty Rate poses confusion to people. From one chart you can see that Cuba has less poverty than the United States however the other chart was unable to give any information about what Poverty Level is in Cuba. This could be because of a couple reasons, one reason is that they like to keep their information private. The other idea is that Cuba's new jobs have allowed people to gain money but not enough money to be able to get out of poverty and Cuba is embarrassed by how many people it has in Poverty. I would say the second guess is more so correct here and there.
An article about Cuba's economy, on the economist talks about how Cuba is pretty good right now considering that it came from a terrible one. And even though their economy is doing pretty well right now, they are still trying to make their economy even better. They go on to say that Cuba is more so focusing on helping small businesses and farming because they believe that these kinds of things will help them have a better economy and will help a lot of people.
